On July 9th, U.S. Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Sigal Mandelker departed Saudi Arabia after a series of productive meetings with Saudi government officials from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), the Ministry of Finance, the State Security Presidency, and other officials. In her meetings, Under Secretary Mandelker thanked Saudi Arabia for their cooperation combatting illicit finance, including countering the financing of terrorism and deterring the malign activities of the Iranian regime in the Gulf. Under Secretary Mandelker also lauded Saudi Arabia for their commitment to the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC), and congratulated them on their recent mutual evaluation with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
