Secretary Michael R. Pompeo and Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo of Brazil spoke by phone today. They reaffirmed the strong U.S.-Brazil partnership and our deepened cooperation to promote democracy, prosperity, and security in the hemisphere. They discussed the crisis in Venezuela and emphasized their unwavering support for interim President Juan Guaido, the democratically elected National Assembly, and the people of Venezuela in their struggle to restore democracy and prosperity to their country.
