WASHINGTON, D.C., January 15, 2020 – The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) CEO Sean Cairncross will travel to Nairobi, Kenya from January 21 to 23, and Maputo, Mozambique from January 24 to 27, for initial engagements following the countries’ selection by the MCC Board of Directors at its December 2019 meeting.

MCC provides time-limited grants to developing countries that meet rigorous standards for good governance, from fighting corruption to respecting democratic rights, as evaluated by MCC’s scorecard.

MCC takes a business-like approach, with commitments to data, accountability, and evidence-based decision making.

In Kenya, CEO Cairncross will meet with top government officials, multilateral donors, and representatives from the private sector and the American Chamber of Commerce.

In Mozambique, CEO Cairncross will meet with key government representatives, and engage with the private sector and donor communities.
