U.S. Sanctions Moron Brothers for their Role in Regime Corruption

The United States is sanctioning brothers Santiago Jose Moron Hernandez and Ricardo Jose Moron Hernandez for their sustained support of corruption by the illegitimate Maduro regime. The State Department Takes Action and Calls for Information to Bring Venezuelan National Maikel Jose Moreno Perez to Justice

Today, I am announcing a reward under the Transnational Organized Crime Program of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Venezuelan National, Maikel Jose Moreno Perez for participating in transnational organized crime. I am also announcing the designation of Moreno Perez and his wife under Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operation, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2020 (Div. G, P.L. 116-94) for his involvement in significant corruption. These designations reaffirm the U.S. commitment to combating corruption and transnational organized crime in Venezuela.

Treasury Sanctions Members of Nicaragua President Ortega’s Inner Circle

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Juan Carlos Ortega Murillo, son of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega; Jose Jorge Mojica Mejia; and two companies they use in an effort to distribute regime propaganda and launder money.

Pan American Health Organization Transparency

The United States government welcomes the Pan American Health Organization’s decision to initiate an independent review of its role in the Mais Medicos program, pursuant to which PAHO provided well over a billion dollars to Cuba. The United States and other key PAHO member states have actively worked with PAHO leadership to design this review into how Mais Medicos was initiated and operated.
