Southeast Asia Regional Counterterrorism Workshop Held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The State Department’s Bureau of Counterterrorism and Countering Violent Extremism, in partnership with the Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training and the National Counterterrorism Center, conducted a regional workshop for counterterrorism practitioners from Southeast Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 3-4.

On the Expulsion of Cuban Officials from the United States

On October 3, the Department of State informed the Government of Cuba that it was ordering the departure of 15 of its officials from its embassy in Washington, D.C. The decision was made due to Cuba’s failure to take appropriate steps to protect our diplomats in accordance with its obligations under the Vienna Convention. This order will ensure equity in our respective diplomatic operations.
